Burn in Joint and It´s Sequelae

Abstract

|
There were many reports on the management of burns and these mainly emphasized_ the general care of the patient, prevention of sepsis and local wound care, but little about the joint problem as well as complicated areas. It has been emphasized to cover the area such as covering tissue is destroyed with adequate viable skin as soon as possible, especially in the joints and hands. Nevertheless this principle has not been practiced generally and various limitation of joints and deformities of the hands were resulted frequently.
It is the purpose to evaluate the cases, which were resulted in limitation of joint motion and deformed hands, and treated in this clinic numbering 42 respectively. Details of corrective surgery and results were discussed and summarized.
